We are so glad you are interested in shopping at the Christmas Shop this year! 


You will first need to register below by November 1st to reserve a time at The Christmas Shop. We will send you a confirmation email with your shopping time two weeks before the shop will open.

 

On your designated day and time you will arrive, check-in and your children can be checked in to our Kidzone before you shop where they’ll have a lot of Christmas fun.  

 

The Christmas Shop will offer this year’s most popular children’s gifts for purchase at 80% off retail prices. For easy shopping, we will have the store organized by age and gender and after you check-out we will offer a wrapping station where you will have the option to wrap your gifts or one our team members can do it for you.   

 

After your gifts are wrapped, you will be able to take the gifts to your vehicle, pick up your kids from the Kidzone, and enjoy some Christmas cookies, hot chocolate as a family.

Q.  Why did you change to a Christmas Shop?

A.   We believe that every parent, no matter their income, appreciates the opportunity to provide Christmas gifts for their children.  Because of this desire, we want to help people provide these gifts at greatly reduced rates.  Another reason we made this change is that as we open other First Church facilities in other communities, we will be able to offer The Christmas Shop at those locations.  This gives First Church more opportunities to serve the communities we live in.


Q.  Who gets to shop at the Christmas Shop?

A. Each of our partner schools (Burlington Elementary, Goodridge Elementary, New Haven Elementary, Stephens Elementary) and the Tent Day communities that First Church serves at will receive an invitation for their family.  If your child(ren) attends one of these 4 schools, contact your school Family Resource Center in October and request an invitation.  Once you receive the invitation, you will need to fill out a registration online by November 1.


If you do not live in the school districts of Burlington, Goodridge, New Haven or Stephens Elementary schools contact the Family Resource Center at your school to see what other options are available to you.  We hope to add more schools to our partnership in the future.



Q.  When and where is the shop?

The shop will be located at the Burlington Campus of First Church (6080 Camp Ernst Road, Burlington, KY).  The shop will be held in the main building.  We will be open December 6 (6-8 p.m.) and December 7 (10-noon & 2-4p.m.). 


Q. What age ranges will The Christmas Shop have gifts for?

A.  Birth-17 years old.


Q.  How will you price the gifts?

A.  All gifts will be priced at 80% off retail prices. For example, a gift which is priced at $30, will be $5 at the Christmas Shop.

 

Q.  What kind of gifts will be available?

A.   In order to obtain the gifts that your child wants, we have utilized lists of this year’s top children’s gifts for various ages and genders. Some examples of the types of gifts that will available for purchase are:  dolls, Nerf, Hatchimals, action figures, Bluetooth speakers.


Q.  Will be there a limit to how much I can spend?

A.  There will be a $10 limit for each child.  That $10 represents $50 of brand new gifts for each child.


Q.  Will clothing be available at The Christmas Shop? 


A. We will not have clothing items available at The Christmas Shop. However, there will be a limited number of gift cards available for purchase at discounted prices for your children who need clothing items.


Q.  Can I bring my kids?

A.  Yes!  We’ll have a fun kids area where your child(ren) can play games and make crafts while you shop or they can shop with you.  Infants will be kept with their parents, strollers are welcome.  All volunteers working with children have completed a background check.


Q. Will Santa be there?

A.  No, Santa will not be at the Christmas Shop.


Q.  What will the experience be like?

A.  You’ll register online to shop at The Christmas Shop.  You’ll arrive at your desiginated time and check-in.  Your children can be checked into Kidzone before you shop where they’ll have a lot of Christmas fun.  You’ll head to the shopping room where you can peruse through our shopping room.  The gifts will be organized by age and gender.  After you select your gifts, you’ll check-out and have the option to wrap your gifts or have our team do it for you.  You can take the gifts to your vehicle, pick up your kids, and enjoy some Christmas cookies, hot chocolate as a family.

 

Q.  What type of payment will you accept?

A.  We will accept cash only.


Q. When do I need to register by?

A.  Please register by November 11th so that we can ensure we have enough gifts available in The Christmas Shop.


Q.  Do you offer transportation to the Christmas Shop?

A.  We are unable to offer transportation to the Christmas Shop.  You'll receive your shopping time a couple weeks in advance to allow time to arrange for transportation. 

 

Q. What if I cannot afford to purchase gifts for my children?

A.  We can offer shop credit for every hour you serve with a non-profit in our community.  Please email christmasshop@firstchurch.me to get more information and sign-up.
