Serving others is a lifestyle, not an event. Serve Week offers a range of opportunities to meet true needs and helps us explore and encourage new ways of serving.
This year, we added a greater variety of project types to allow more to participate. We decided to go deeper with existing partners instead of broader. Most importantly, every project was walked and prayed over by two or more people prior to the project start date.
We completed 42 projects and mobilized over 800 individuals in our local schools, businesses, organizations, several under resourced communities, and on the streets of Covington. Hope was ignited and lives were changed as each team met tangible needs and shared the love of Jesus this week.
The words in the song “Do Something” by Matthew West say it well…
We are the Salt of the Earth, We are a city on a hill.
But we’re never gonna change the world by standing still.
If not us, then who
If not me and you
It’s not enough for us to do nothing
Right now, it’s time for us to do something!
Thank you First Church…You did not stand still. Let’s continue to make serving a lifestyle as we “GO and BE” in our communities, schools, work places, and everywhere we play. Thank you for the Cannonball size impact in our communities. Now let’s keep the “Ripples” moving!
