Birds on a wire Mom's Group Burlington

Birds on a Wire is a ministry designed to encourage moms and equip them with Godly practical advice so that they will be able to parent with confidence and feel confident in their ability as a mom. Karen Stubbs understands how challenging this season of life as she shares, “as a mother of four I know firsthand how difficult raising a child is in today's society”. A mom can feel isolated, ill-equipped and unsure of herself and her mothering skills. BOAW pulls alongside moms to give practical advice and assure them that their heavenly Father is with them in this journey. If you have little ones or teenagers or any age in between, join us on this journey of motherhood. This is for moms of children birth to 5th grade.

Tuesday pm Women's Bible STudy - Union

In today’s busy world, we’re wired to appear “fine,” warding off authenticity and shielding ourselves from judgment. We hide behind the hum of busyness to escape intimate friendships with the women God has placed in our lives.  But we do want a seat at the table. We yearn for authentic relationships and the opportunity to be the opposite of “fine” with people who cheer for us. But comparison, envy, and entitlement often stop us from pulling out a chair at the table. Friendship can be hard, making new friends even harder, and maintaining genuine friendship the hardest of all. In this 7-session Bible study, Lisa-Jo Baker and friends from (in)courage explore our relationship with Jesus as the ultimate model for authentic friendship. Nothing shapes us like the impact of a friend—it’s how Jesus radically and intimately connects with us. So instead of chasing perfection, overcome your fear of being known and find the courage to connect.

Wednesday am Women's Bible Study - Union

In this study, Elijah, grounded in 1 and 2 Kings, we will learn some of the spiritual stamina secrets that helped Elijah to hold on and persevere in faith, including practical habits related to making decisions, caring for the soul, accepting his circumstances, mentoring, and finishing well—which was his ultimate legacy. Whether we’re currently in a mountaintop season where we’re experiencing God’s power and blessing, a valley season where we feel like running away, or somewhere in between, Elijah’s life will inspire us to go the distance in the life of faith. Best of all, his story will challenge us but not shame us, because we’ll discover that Elijah was just as human as we are. He doubted and struggled just as we do, but ultimately, he chose to believe God. As we study his life, we will grow in faith and develop spiritual stamina that will help us not only to survive but actually thrive in every season.

wednesday pm women's bible study - union

In the Book of Jeremiah, we find God calling out to His people with a message of hope—a message that intentional living is possible even in an unstable world. But how do we do this? Where do we start? Jeremiah offers women hope for living in an uncertain world by learning to navigate the challenges and circumstances of their lives. This six-week study examines God’s words of instruction to His wayward people through the prophet Jeremiah, and provides women six guidelines for intentional living to overcome fear, worry, and doubt as they surrender their wills to God’s and put their hope in Him alone. Combining rich study of the Book of Jeremiah with practical life application that resonates with the realities and experiences of today’s women, this study inspires all women to dare to hope, remembering that God is rich in mercy and love and has good plans for us.

"The Longing in Me", by Sheila Walsh

Do your longings have you going around in circles?

You vowed to never repeat the same mistakes. Yet here you are again, right where you started. What is it that keeps drawing you back? Why can’t you seem to break free?

In this six session study, author and Bible teacher Sheila Walsh shows it is our longings that often lead us into such traps. She draws on the trials in her life and the story of David in the Bible to show that our longings are rooted in a deep need for God.

We can tap into the fountain that will quench our deepest thirst. We can change the way we respond to life’s stresses. We can heal from the past and find joy.

Sunday am Women's

Bible STudy - Burlington

Our inheritance through Christ is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. In 1 Peter, a man of faith and flaws and eyewitness to the life of Christ challenges us to look beyond our current circumstances to a future inheritance. He shares his concerns on big picture issues for the early church, describes believers’ true identity in Christ, and ultimately helps readers discover what it means to experience the Living Hope they have in Christ. Key themes of humility, submission, and identity in Christ guide the study of 1 Peter as participants are challenged to read the book in its entirety each week.

Women's Discipleship

Discipleship seeks to equip women who are mature in their faith to be used by God through personal ministry and empower them to do God's work and then disciple others.

If you're ready to dig deeper into God's Word and develop meaningful relationships in a small group for women, please consider Discipleship. This concept is based on spiritual multiplication. Disciples multiply!

This will be a minimal commitment of one year, but may be longer. Group size is limited and advanced sign-up is required.

Please contact Gina if you're interested in starting or joining a future Discipleship Group.
