Here is a small glimpse of where First Church is impacting our community right now.

  • Campus Connection

One of the most important places to begin building a foundation is with school partnerships.  Every life and health indicator is tied to education: jobs, well-being, and family.  Our goal is to pour Hope and Encouragement into the local schools by working with school leaders to identify various needs and opportunities to serve and resource.  Our passion is for our school teams to be an ongoing, consistent presence throughout the year!

  • WHIZ KIDS

In partnership with City Gospel Mission, we take part in this tutoring and mentoring program that has the power to boost at-risk children's academic scores, create strong readers, and improve confidence. Whiz Kids not only helps kids with their school work, but it builds long-lasting mentoring relationships that can forever change their lives.

  • Neighborhood Impact

Neighborhood Impact strives to connect with kids and families in order to serve, build relationships, influence, and impact their lives. We aspire to establish a friendly environment that fosters relationships, that lead to genuine friendships, opening doors for the Gospel to be shared.

  • Homeless Ministry

Our Homeless Ministry, in conjunction with partner organizations, focuses on serving the homeless through the provision of meals, clothing, and encouragement. The needs of those experiencing homelessness dramatically increase during the cold season and our team rises to meet those needs. In this area of ministry, you will always have the deep satisfaction of knowing your time, kindness, and talents are directly and positively impacting those who presently cannot experience the comfort and warmth of a home.

  • International Student Ministry

You don't always have to go across the globe to share the Gospel, you can welcome international students on your own doorstep and pour into them as they figure out life in America. From providing a simple ride from the airport to connecting as a Friendship Family and inviting international students into your home, there are many ways that you can engage.

  • Master Provisions

Master Provisions, in partnership with hundreds of non-profit organizations, serves God by connecting resources like food and clothing to people in need. Volunteers serve with us to prepare donated items for distribution to meet the physical and spiritual needs of over 67,000 people worldwide each month.

  • fairhaven Rescue Mission

Part of the heartbeat of First Church is caring for the least of these.  If serving those in need brings you joy, we’d love to have you join us, by serving at Fairhaven Rescue Mission. Fairhaven Rescue Mission provides Christ-centered programs and services that respond to the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of homeless and hurting men, women, and children. We serve meals and lead a time of worship two nights a month.  If you’re interested in learning more click the volunteer button, and someone will get back to you quickly.
